You save the patch, set down your guitar, and go to sleep feeling like a genius.

Stop Using One Patch for Everything
Here's the real talk that nobody wants to hear. You need at least two versions of every patch you care about.
Patch A: The Bedroom Version. Slightly boosted bass and treble to compensate for low-volume listening. A touch more gain for feel and sustain. This is your late-night noodling patch. It should sound great in your headphones and through your studio monitors at conversation volume.
Patch B: The Live/Rehearsal Version. Flatter EQ (or even slightly mid-boosted). Less gain than you think you need. Maybe a presence boost around 2-3kHz to help you cut through the mix. This is the patch that sounds "wrong" at bedroom volume but absolutely destroys when the drummer counts in.
